Feel a lot safer than when friends do. That said.... If I’m going out for drinks—even just one or two—the thought of taking my car out is anxiety inducing. Luckily Miatas have a built in defense mechanism to avoid driving in this situation while still letting you look good by offering to drive. Observe:
Bonus thought: if you find someone who’s happy to cruise around with the top down when it’s well below freezing, you can chalk that up as a win too!

I keep a blanket inside to keep on my lap for cold weather offroading because for whatever reason that’s the area that gets coldest. Oh, this has gotten some interesting looks/replies:

Those 12v heating/massage seat covers are awesome. But I need all the space I can get — in a Miata my knees are straddling the wheel.

Yeah, no getting around that in Seattle unfortunately. I would love to ditch it and put more stereo gear in that spot but.... That’ll will have to wait until I get a garage and a hardtop at least.

And between the rollbar, soft top, unmatched Rear defrost and moisture buildup that makes the car permanently foggy... It gets pretty claustrophobic driving at night or in a storm. Really need to hook up my rear defrost...
